As a finance intern, whereby the main activities of my task are dealing with daily finance operations throughout the bank. My job tasks include practical training on finance and accounting tasks for instance, posting, master data maintenance, checking transactions and reports, perform reconciliation and so on.
One of my job task is exposed to the usage of SAP system. The SAP system is neatly run by integrated ERP software and the capacity of SAP contain every single data of the bank. By learning step by step, I will be helping my senior in sorting out data in SAP system to Excel file and learn to utilize the system. My biggest responsibility is to equip myself with GST knowledge as most of my task is deal with GST. I need to help in updating company who registered as GST or NON-GST and help to differentiate each and single type of service bank perform is fall under which kind of GST. I would say it was a good learning outcome for me in the future as GST will somehow influence our life in upcoming April. Besides, I was required to perform bank reconciliation statement between Bank Negara Malaysia and UOB. I was kinda excited to working with colleagues as my tutor do mention that reconciliation statement is one of the challenge task but if you able to fully understand it, it will benefit you in your future undertaking.
As my supervisor, Miss Low Wai Teng have a lot sub-coordinate under her, she will be asking her colleague to pass me their works. Thus, the reporting line goes by reporting the completed job task perform to the respective person in charge and then report to supervisor on what I had done. I would say it was good that I report to her on my daily job tasks so that she had a better idea on what I had done and it's easy for to evaluate me at the end of internship.
